We’re developing a new game inspired by research in linguistics and language evolution exploring how communication forms, shifts, and adapts over time. This project is being led by Sean Roberts at Cardiff University, bringing together academic insight and playful design.
We’ve already taken the first step by launching a public survey, helping us understand how people use, interpret, and evolve language in everyday life. The results (including a sneak peak of the outputs in the word cloud below) are already shaping how the game will work.
This is just the beginning. We’re now moving into prototyping, testing, and refining. We are turning research into something interactive, engaging, and fun for children to engage with.
